The collaboration allows SAS EuroBonus loyalty program participants to convert points gained through Revolut, referred to as RevPoints, straight into airline miles at a 1:1 exchange rate. There is no minimum transfer requirement, allowing minor, everyday purchases to build up over time for flight rewards, cabin upgrades, or hotel accommodations.
For consumers, this change effectively transforms a general spending card into a more powerful means of accumulating frequent flyer miles, extending beyond merely buying airline tickets. Revolut customers accumulate RevPoints based on their daily card expenditures, with the rate determined by their account tier.
The partnership with SAS EuroBonus, a major loyalty program in the Nordics, greatly enhances the value of these points. The total number of airline loyalty programs available on Revolut’s platform exceeds a dozen, covering around 45 international airlines.
The partnership underscores an increasing trend where fintech firms and travel businesses are combining daily financial services with desirable incentives. For airlines, it's a tactic to integrate their loyalty programs more deeply into customers' everyday financial activities, simplifying the process of earning miles even without flying.
